The Strategy Behind Zucol’s Multi-Brand Architecture and Shared Digital Infrastructure

The vast majority of tech firms choose a path and stick with it. Zucol Services chose another path, developing one operating engine and allowing it to operate a multitude of different purpose-built brands. Since the company's inception in Gurugram in 2010, Zucol Founder Ankush Tambi has built an ecosystem where the world of education technology, automation powered by AI, design, IT infrastructure and real estate advisory share the same pillars but present themselves as distinct entities in the market. This blog examines the architecture, how it works, how it succeeds and what it reflects on the leadership philosophy of Zucol Founder Ankush Tambi.

The concept of one engine, many brands.

The costs and time of setting up a new company for each new opportunity is costly and time-consuming. But Zucol's solution was to focus on what shouldn't be reinvented — engineering skills, cloud and infrastructure practices, quality processes, and operational discipline — and have individual brands build on that foundation. That's why, behind the scenes, Zucol AI, Zoice AI, Desklib, The Design Trip, Locus R.A.G.S. and Tameda Realty might share the same technical bench and delivery culture and look and feel like separate products. This is why the range of products isn't just extensions of the same line but products that address specific market needs, from academic technology, voice AI, design services, IT infrastructure and property advisory.

Desklib and Zoice AI: Specialisation Without Duplication.

The model is nicely illustrated by Desklib. It's an AI-driven academic platform featuring digital libraries, AI-powered grading, plagiarism detection and tailored learning pathways and has now become a vast collection of academic content for students and schools. Zoice AI takes the same AI and automation power and turns it around to another problem—multilingual voice interactions for businesses—with smart IVR and automated calling to assist companies in scaling customer conversations. Both products did not require a new company to be constructed. Rather than diluting either brand's focus, the shared AI infrastructure, data practices, and engineering standards were extended to two very different customer experiences: in scaling academically and one commercial.

Design Trip and Locus R.A.G.S.: Craft and Infrastructure Side by Side.

Not all Zucol brands are AI-first. The Design Trip is a creative studio specialised in branding, UI/UX design, and frontend development, which helps businesses build a digital experience that converts and retains users. Zucol's IT services unit is Locus R.A.G.S, which is at the opposite end of the stack, taking on software development, cloud management and digital consulting for enterprise and academic clients. It may sound bizarre to put a design studio and an infrastructure practice in the same group, but it's a reality of the situation: If a client requires a completely redesigned interface, they also have a backend and cloud component they need, and if those two functions are operated by two separate vendors, there's friction. Putting a design studio and an infrastructure practice in the same group may seem like an unusual mix, but a client who requires a rebuilt interface also might need those backend and cloud services, and having them integrated under the same umbrella, standards and communication protocols eliminates friction between two separate vendors.

The Discipline of Staying On-Brief and Tameda Realty.

The best evidence of this architecture may be Tameda Realty, a real estate consultant group that Zucol founded. At a superficial level, there's little correlation between real estate advisory and AI voice platforms or academic software. The same sense of accountability, of working on a problem that really needs to be solved, and of execution over noise that Ankush Tambi brought to Zucol's first technology projects extends to how Tameda is run. The brand is a part of the group, but the organisational habits, reporting structures and the group's people-first culture are all carried over to the brand. This is a good guide on how well any multi-brand backbones will work – a brand in another industry should feel like it belongs to the same family.

The architecture that maintains it.

The connective tissue throughout these brands isn't shared logos or a shared office; it's the way in which they're led, a leadership approach that's been at the heart of Zucol since its inception. Ankush Tambi has always been very clear that trust is the only thing that should be put ahead of micromanagement, hiring people with curiosity and hunger for knowledge and not just based on credentials, and seeing people as an investment, as the growth of an organisation itself. Having over 700 professionals spread across the Gurugram, Jaipur, Pune, Noida, Indore and Kolkata hubs and with other international locations in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Dubai, consistency is not a given across brands — it has to be curated. This is the true work of Zucol's growth, according to its founder, Ankush Tambi, and something the team has been trying to do very successfully over the years, making sure that the environment is one where teams can operate on very different products but still have a shared sense of accountability, mentorship, and long-term thinking, where shared technology and different identities can coexist without one blunting the other.
