What ‘Induction Compatible’ Actually Guarantees And What It Doesn’t

Induction compatible means cookware has a magnetic base that should work on an induction hob. It guarantees basic hob recognition and heat generation, but it does not guarantee excellent cooking quality. A pan can be compatible and still heat unevenly, scorch food, warp, or feel poorly balanced. Base thickness, material layers, pan size, and how well the base matches the hob zone all affect performance. A magnet test can show whether a pan may work, but it cannot tell you how evenly it will cook. Compatibility is only the starting point.
