Environmental ethic is a branch of philosophy that examine the moral relationship between human and the natural environment. In the context of climate change ethical perspective help us understand our responsibility towards the planet, future generation, and other living being. As climate change become a global concern, ethical consideration play an important role in shaping policy and individual action.

 

Human Responsibility and Environmental Ethics

Environmental ethics highlights that it is humanity responsibility to conserve and safeguard the natural world. It encourages respect for ecosystems and biodiversity instead of the notion that natural resources exist only for human consumption. Different perspectives on how people should interact with the environment are provided by ethical theories including (human-centered),  (life-centered), and ecocentrism (ecosystem-centered).

From an ethical perspective, people and communities are urged to embrace sustainable behaviors including cutting back on waste, saving energy, and limiting pollution. It is also the duty of governments and organizations to enact laws that guarantee environmental sustainability and safeguard natural resources.

Intergenerational justice, or the duty to preserve the environment for future generations, is one important concern. Global inequality is another, as poor nations frequently experience the worst effects of climate change despite making smaller contributions to the issue.

Accountability is another focus of ethical viewpoints, which call for rich country and businesses to assume more responsibility for cutting carbon emission. Climate ethic encourages group action by highlighting the need for both local and international cooperation to solve climate change.
